Kathleen M. Nelson

As a Managing Principal of Bay Hollow, Kathleen Nelson brings to the firm her many years of Institutional Investor experience and eight years of advising clients in structuring all types of commercial real estate transactions.

Ms. Nelson served as Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer for TIAA-CREF’s Mortgage & Real Estate Division. Her areas of responsibility included all mortgage loan sales and loan restructuring activities, research and portfolio strategy, and appraisal, engineering and environmental services for the portfolio. Ms Nelson developed and staffed TIAA’s Real Estate Research Department and created a pre-eminent commercial mortgage loan sales model for TIAA.

A Trustee of the International Council of Shopping Centers (“ICSC”) since 1991, Ms. Nelson was the first representative from the financial services industry, and the second woman to serve as Chair of ICSC. As a member of various ICSC Committees, Ms. Nelson is deeply involved in the shopping center industry’s major issues. She also served on the Board of Advisors to the Rand Institute Center for Terrorism Risk Management Policy.

Ms. Nelson serves on the Board of Directors of three public companies: CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. (“CBL”), Apartment Investment and Management Co. (AIMCO),  and The Dime of Williamsburg (“DCOM”). She is a director of JPMorgan’s US RE Income & Growth Fund and a member of Castagna Realty Company’s  Advisory Board, the Beverly Willis Architectural Foundation’s Advisory Board, and  the Anglo American Real Property Institute .

Ms Nelson is a graduate of Indiana University with a BS in Real Estate, the University of Chicago Executive Management Program, and the Aspen Institute Leadership Seminar.
